EAST LANSING, Mich. – Michigan State University has nominated three students for the nationally competitive Truman Scholarship.
The Truman Scholarship, sponsored by the Harry S. Truman Scholarship Foundation, recognizes students with exceptional leadership potential who are committed to affecting change through public service. It provides financial support for graduate study and leadership training for approximately 62 students. Awardees will be announced in the coming months.
MSU’s nominees for the Truman Scholarship are:
- Kaylin Casper, an Honors College third-year student majoring in Sociology in the College of Social Science, and Humanities Pre-Law in the College of Arts and Letters. Casper attended John Burroughs High School and is from Burbank, Calif.
- Isabelle Radakovich, an Honors College third-year student pursuing three majors: International Relations, as well as Political Theory and Constitutional Democracy in James Madison College; and French in the College of Arts and Letters. Radakovich attended Cody High School and is from Cody, Wyo.
- Claire Smith, an Honors College third-year student majoring in Social Relations & Policy in James Madison College. Smith attended Churchill High School and is from Livonia, Mich.
